Limbo

(01/17/2018) This piece has sat in my sketchbook for a long time and i finally came around to it. It is inspired by the concept of signature worlds that many painters create, like how you can always recognize a Dali landscape. A lot of his paintings take place in the same place, as if it were another world, one you could only visit in your mind but never in reality. I think that’s incredible and I thought about what my signature place might look like, a beach where urban life decomposes into a sea of abstraction, with a full view of the immense universe above.
